Brian McCann
Business Development Consultant
Meet Brian McCann. As a Business Development Consultant at Inteb, Brian is using his extensive experience and connections built over a lengthy career to open new opportunities for Inteb.
Career Journey
An economics graduate from Liverpool University, Brian spent the first 18 years of his career at KPMG, one of the world’s “Big 4” accounting and consulting firms. After completing his Chartered Accounting qualification, Brian moved into the business advisory and corporate transactions side of the firm, working with major UK and multi-national clients. Since leaving KPMG, Brian has spent the majority of his time working directly with business owners as they prepare and complete the sale of their businesses.
Brian has held several highly valuable Non-Executive roles, including Director of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Director of a regional venture capital fund, and Governor of Liverpool John Moores University. He is currently the Chair of a registered charity that operates a Victorian Swimming Bath in Chester and a Director of an Employee Ownership Trust responsible for an innovative technology-based business.
A life of Learning
Each of Brian’s roles has brought valuable learning. He has worked with businesses of all sizes and at all stages of development through several full economic cycles. This experience has given him a real, practical understanding of the pressures and challenges managers, particularly business owners, face. Over recent years, he has seen at first hand the impact of increasing energy costs on business profits, cash flow, and valuations. He also understands very clearly the importance of strong sustainability compliance for businesses operating in major supply chains, particularly for those raising finance or working towards a business sale.
